Libuv does not guarantee that handles have their close callbacks called in the order in which they were added (and in fact, currently calls them in reverse order). This patch ensures that the `flush_signal_` handle is no longer in use (i.e. its close callback has already been run) when we signal to the main thread that `~NodeTraceBuffer` may be destroyed. Sometimes, the `parallel/test-tracing-no-crash` would not work as expected, at least on Windows, because there is a static destruction race between tearing down the `NodeTraceWriter` instance and the per-process options struct. If the per-process options were destroyed before the `NodeTraceWriter`, the reference to the tracing filename would be gone before opening the file was attempted. This can be solved by creating a copy of the string when creating the `NodeTraceWriter` instance rather than taking a reference. For safer shutdown, we should destroy the platform – and background threads - before the tracing infrastructure is destroyed. Port of the V8 internal v8::tracing::TracedValue that allows structured data to be included in the trace event. The v8 class is not exported in the public API so we cannot use it directly. Removes the requirement to use `--trace-events-enabled` to enable trace events. Tracing is enabled automatically if there are any enabled categories. Adds a new `trace_events` module with an API for enabling/disabling trace events at runtime without a command line flag. ```js const trace_events = require('trace_events'); const categories = [ 'node.perf', 'node.async_hooks' ]; const tracing = trace_events.createTracing({ categories }); tracing.enable(); // do stuff tracing.disable(); ``` Multiple `Tracing` objects may exist and be enabled at any point in time.
