2019-04-18benchmark: add benchmark for dns.promises.lookup()Rich Trott
Adding this benchmark will let us check the performance implications of https://github.com/nodejs/node/pull/27081. 2019-04-06benchmark: remove deprecated argumentRich Trott
The benchmarks for dns.lookup() include calling it with an empty hostname which results in a deprecation warning. This benchmark seems to be subject to some odd side effects (see Ref below) and we probably generally don't want to benchmark deprecated things by default anyway. Remove the deprecated value from the default list. Bonus is that this will speed up the benchmark. 2018-01-23benchmark: use destructuringRuben Bridgewater
This applies to all `async_hooks`, `dns`, `cluster`, `domain` and `module` benchmarks. PR-URL: https://github.com/nodejs/node/pull/18250 Reviewed-By: Matteo Collina <matteo.collina@gmail.com> Reviewed-By: James M Snell <jasnell@gmail.com>
2017-08-25benchmark: fix issues in dns benchmarkIan Perkins
The benchmark script for dns contained functions with args declared but never used. This fix removes those arguments from the function signatures. No test existed for the dns benchmark so one was added to the parallel suite. To improve performance the tests are limited to 1 invocation to a single endpoint. 2017-06-01dns: improve callback performanceBrian White
It appears that either c-ares no longer calls callbacks synchronously or we have since explicitly taken care of the scenarios in which c-ares would call callbacks synchronously (e.g. resolving an IP address or an empty hostname). Therefore we no longer need to have machinery in place to handle possible synchronous callback invocation. This improves performance significantly.
