      6 GNU Taler is a libre software package for payment systems with privacy for
      7 payers and income-transparency for merchants and payees.

      9 In this talk, we give a high-level introduction to the project, with focus on
     10 the potential of the recently started integration project of GNU Taler into
     11 Tryton/GNUHealth.
     12 
     13 We also highlight recent developments as part of the NGI-Taler project funded
     14 by the European Commission to deploy Taler as a payment system in Germany and
     15 Switzerland.
