      3 ## Introduction

      5 This GIT repository pertains to Mr. Yann Mickael DOY's Bachelor thesis on the
      6 operational integration of an identity verification process, known as Know Your
      7 Customers (KYC), into the GNU Taler project's Depolymerizer sub-project. The
      8 purpose of this integration is to ensure compliance with financial regulations,
      9 specifically the Swiss Federal Law on Financial Institutions (LEFin).
     10 
     11 The GNU Taler project community has successfully enabled third parties to
     12 implement their own KYC identification processes (KYC-Logic) via extension.
     13 Furthermore, this thesis builds on Mr Loïc Fauchère's work, who developed a
     14 web-based platform to offer identification and authentication as a service
     15 (KYCaaS). The KYC process consists of identification, authentication, and
     16 authorization. To delegate this process from GNU Taler to the previously
     17 developed platform, we will confidently use the OAuth 2.1 protocol.

     19 The thesis work will involve precise integration of OAuth 2.1 between GNU Taler
     20 and the KYCaaS platform.
